Out of care and concern for the health and safety of our congregation and our community-at-large, MCC Portland is committed to following the best practices currently recommended by health authorities. We are responding to the risk and working to lessen the spread of COVID-19 in the following ways:
WORSHIP: Group gatherings for worship are widely recognized as high-risk activities. Therefore our worship gatherings are being conducted on-line only until further notice. You may participate live on Sunday at 10AM through our church MCC Facebook page or view our past worship archive.
OTHER ACTIVITIES: Smaller gatherings that may include individuals from more than one household MAY have an in-person component only when following these guidelines:
- Persons attending must have no signs of illness (no coughing, sneezing or fever, etc.) and must be confident they have not been exposed to someone known to have COVID-19 during the previous 2 weeks.
- A list of persons present will be kept to facilitate public health contact tracing if it becomes necessary.
- If the activity is held OUTSIDE, persons must observe sufficient physical distance (at least 6’ apart) from those not in their own household. Wearing face coverings is strongly recommended.
- If the activity is held INSIDE, persons must wear a face covering and remain at least 6’ apart from those not in their own household.
Some activities may be conducted in a “hybrid” format — simultaneously both on-line and in-person — allowing for greater participation. See information on the individual activity on our MCC Calendar Page for details about whether participation is on-line only, in-person only, or both.
