Portland is a fun place during the summer.  With warm weather and long, sunny days there are scores of fantastic outside events.  Come out and about with us!  Explore and enjoy something new with friends from MCC Portland — and meet new friends.

All selected events are FREE, outside and in different areas around the greater Portland area.  See selected events below.

— Plan ahead to be outside for a few hours in the day or evening weather.

— For evening movie and concert events, bring a folding chair and/or blanket for seating and a jacket in case it gets chilly.

— Wear your MCC T-shirt!  It’s a great way for folks to get to know who we are!

Saturday, July 11:  Mississippi Street Fair.  Meet us at corner of N Mississippi & N Failing @ 11:30AM. (Fair runs 10AM-9PM; N Mississippi Avenue from N Fremont to N Skidmore.)  Free admission, family friendly, 200 vendors & crafts, 6 stages & 40 plus bands.  Grandfather’s Rib off Competition, dunk tank, shops, beer gardens, restaurants, food carts and so much more!

Friday, July 24, 7PM: “Flicks on the Bricks”  Raiders of the Lost Ark.  Pioneer Square in downtown Portland.  Pre-movie band entertainment by Melville begins at 7.

Tuesday, July 285:30-8PM:   Beaverton in the Round.  The Beatniks.  Live concert of 60’s & 70’s music. The BeavertonRound (12600 SW Crescent St., Beaverton; adjacent to Beaverton Central light rail station)
Sunday, August 2, 6:30PM:  Frozen sing-along!  Sellwood Park (SE 7th & Bidwell).

Pre-movie entertainment begins at 6:30 with Echoes of Yasgurs & Portland Teen Idols

Saturday, August 8, 6PM: Portland Festival Symphony. U.S. Grant Park (NE 33rd Ave & US Grant Pl.)

Friday, August 14, 6:30PM:  Grease sing-along!  Washington Park.  Pre-movie entertainment begins at 6:30 with The Steve Bradley & Jim Mesi Band

Sunday, August 23  after morning worship:  Sunday Parkways. Laurelhurst Park area. The final Parkways of the season — and the closet to NE Broadway (officially runs 11AM -4PM).  Following morning worship we will meet at a designated location to ride our bikes or walk together.
