MCC Portland is on the brink of a great opportunity to grow! What new things is God calling us to? What do we already treasure that we can't leave behind as we move into a vibrant future? Don't you want to be part of discerning these answers together? With the theme "For Those Not yet Gathered," our retreat will focus on both spiritual renewal and opening our hearts -- and church -- more widely to those who have yet to come in to our community. With small group sharing, guided discussions, prayerful discernment and worship, we will review the treasures we already have and identify specific next steps to take into the future to which God is calling us.

A senior consultant with the Alban Institute (the premier congregational resourcing organization in North America), he brings considerable expertise in church development to share with MCC Portland over this pivotal weekend. |

Location
The retreat will be held at Kimberly & Gail's farm in Sandy, near Eagle Creek (about 1-hour from Portland.) With several acres of land for ample camping space, an outdoor labyrinth, and farm animals ranging from the expected to the exotic, the setting will be rustic and rejuvenating. (NOTE: Detailed directions to the retreat site will be provided to those registered.)

Schedule
Friday, July 16: You can arrive as early as 3 PM to check-in, get settled, and enjoy the farm. Retreat opens with dinner at 6 PM and continues until about 10 PM.
Saturday, July 17: Breakfast at 8 AM with discussions beginning at 9:00 AM. We will continue into the evening ending by10:00 PM. If you're camping, you are welcome to stay overnight Saturday.
Cost
Only $65! Includes dinner Friday and 3 meals on Saturday. Limited scholarships are available. Download the registration form or pick one up at church and return it to church by Wednesday, July 14.
Things to bring
- Your favorite (non-perishable) snack to share. (Meals are provided.)
- A camp chair, blanket, etc. for seating variety. (Chairs will be provided.)
- Paper and pen/pencil for taking notes
- If you're camping, make sure you bring everything else you need!
