The MCC Portland Congregational Life Team (commonly called the CLT) is a ministry providing service to our congregational community. Services include:

  • Providing prayer support after each Sunday worship service
  • Contacting persons identified as needing special care
  • Visitation: hospital, care facility, etc.
  • Taking communion to those unable attend worship
  • Coordinating the Prayer Team
  • Coordinating the Emergency Fund for MCC community members in need
  • Making referrals to community resources as appropriate

The Team meets monthly and seeks to maintain several members at all times. Current CLT members are:

  • Enrique Andrade
  • Brian Giblin
  • Rev. Grant Helbley (team chair)
  • Rev. Nathan Meckley
  • Dylan Patterson-Sims
  • Philip Patterson-Sims (Prayer Team coordinator)

Membership on the team is open to congregants who feel called to care for others and have been attending MCCP a minimum of 6 months. Each prospective member is interviewed by a team member and must pass a criminal background check. CLT members must understand and maintain confidentiality, attend regular team meetings, and have time/interest/availability to travel for visitation, etc.
