From mobilizing the world’s first action for the legal recognition of same sex marriages in 1969, to its current work in creating safe space, dialogue, and supporting local intersectional justice efforts in Africa, the Caribbean, China, Latin America, and Eastern Europe, Metropolitan Community Churches (MCC) have a long history in the struggle for LGBTQ rights.   We are hosting this event as part of a larger fundraising campaign in order to renew and strengthen our relationship with the global MCC denomination and support its global justice efforts.

In over 40 countries, Metropolitan Community Churches liberate LGBTQQI people from religiously based homophobia and transphobia. Join us at The Peace House for a celebration in support of MCC’s global justice efforts. Acclaimed author and LGBTQQI activist, Dr. Mel White (Stranger at the Gate & Grace and Demion: A Fable for Victims of Biblical Intolerance), will be our honored guest and keynote speaker.  Tickets may be purchased at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/1714231
